Introduce a query (e.g., p53 concentration) to retrieve a set of figures from PubMed Central. Then, sort the results according to the figure types Gel, Pathway, Structure, and Time. Click on Advanced Search to filter for documents that include certain keywords (e.g., cancer).

Figures and tables from biomedical articles contain valuable information that is difficult to reach without specialized tools. Currently, there is no search engine that can retrieve tables or specific figure types. Figurome search engine was developed to retrieve tables and figure types to aid computational and experimental research.

Figurome labels PubMed central figures (currently 233,395) using four label types Gel, Pathway, Structure, and Time. The labeling is based on the figure's caption, on the text imbedded within the figure, and on the global image properties. Figurome uses a training set available on request.
